Lorne Park homes are big, treed and often rebuilt.
Lorne Park began as a summer resort in the 1880s. Most homes came much later. Many are 1960s houses on large treed lots, often with more than 100 feet of frontage. A lot of them have been torn down and rebuilt as large custom homes.
What that means for your heating and cooling
- The 1960s homes often gained a second storey, a family room or a finished basement. The first ducts were never sized for that
- Custom rebuilds often have two furnaces, or one system split into zones with a thermostat for each
- Big lots mean long gas runs out to the pool equipment and the back patio

Clarkson, just west, is different again. It has more 1950s to 70s detached homes and semis, plus new mid-rise condos on Lakeshore Road West.
Pools and Outdoor Kitchens

Big back yards here often hold a pool, an outdoor kitchen or a fire table. Each one needs its own gas line. Our licensed gas fitter runs it. We do not hand it to another company.

Check the meter before you add
The pipe from your meter was sized for the first appliances in the house. Add a pool heater and a kitchen, and the furnace can come up short on a cold day. We add up every appliance first. If the pipe or meter is too small, you hear it before any digging starts.
Working with a pool builder or landscaper? Have them call us early. The gas line is easiest to run before the patio stone and the plants go in.
