Heat loss for each zone
From the drawings, we work out how much heat each floor or zone needs. That sets the size of each furnace or boiler.

Mineola was farmland until the 1930s. Most of it was built from the 1940s to the 1960s. The classic Mineola home is a ranch bungalow on a large, treed lot. Many of those bungalows are now being replaced with large custom homes.
Some older homes here still heat with a hot water boiler and radiators. Others switched to a furnace long ago. That is the first thing we ask when you call.

A boiler that has heated a Mineola home for decades can often still be repaired. When it cannot, the radiators can usually stay.
See boiler repair and boiler installation. Boilers are quoted after we see the pipes, because no two old systems are the same.
| If the boiler is | We usually suggest |
|---|---|
| Working, but needs one part | Repair it |
| Repaired every winter | Price both, then decide |
| Leaking from the boiler itself | Replace it |
| In a home being gutted | Talk to us before the walls close |

Mid-century bungalows had ducts sized for one floor and an unfinished basement. Renovations change the house, but the ducts often stay the same.
The fix may be new branch runs, a bigger return, or a second system upstairs. For one problem room, a ductless unit also works. See ductwork service.
Big trees shade many Mineola lots. Basements under them can feel damp and stuffy in summer. Start here:
Call or send the form. Tell us what heats your Mineola home and we will tell you the options.

Many Mineola lots now have a custom home going up. We work with your builder, architect or designer on the heating plan and the gas lines. This is the order we work in.
From the drawings, we work out how much heat each floor or zone needs. That sets the size of each furnace or boiler.
Most large new homes need two systems or zoning. Some add in-floor heat in the basement or the main bathrooms.
Furnaces, water heaters, range, fireplaces, BBQ, maybe a pool heater. We total them so the line and meter are right from the start.
Several bathrooms need a large tankless unit, two units, or a combi boiler. We size it for the showers that run at once.
Ducts and gas pipe go in before drywall. Equipment goes in once the house is closed in. Every gas line is tested before any appliance runs.
Beyond boilers and ducts, these are the jobs we do most in Mineola homes.
Installed from $3,250 + HST for a 40,000 BTU single stage furnace, up to larger two stage units for big homes. See furnace installation.
Adding AC to a bungalow that has ducts, or replacing an old outdoor unit. See AC installation.
A gas range, a fireplace or a BBQ line during a renovation. See gas line installation.
Renovation dust ends up in the ducts. Whole-home duct cleaning starts at $475 + HST.
Older homes often still rent their tank. Read rent or buy, then see tank water heater installation.
A yearly tune-up is $150 + HST and includes the safety checks.
All installed prices are on the pricing list. Qualifying installs can be paid with 0% financing from $42 a month.
Postal codes here start with L5G, and parts of Gordon Woods are L5B. Main roads are Hurontario Street, Cawthra Road, Mineola Road, Lakeshore Road and the QEW.
Lakeview Village, being built to the east, will run on a shared district energy system instead of a furnace in each home. The older Lakeview houses around it still have their own furnaces and boilers, and we work on those.
We are based in Churchill Meadows, about 15 to 20 minutes up Mississauga Road. Our phone is answered 24/7 at (647) 280-6626. Nearby, see Port Credit, Erindale and Lorne Park. We also work in Oakville, Etobicoke and Burlington, and across Mississauga.
Yes, plus Gordon Woods and the Lakeview edge. We fix and install boilers, furnaces, AC and water heaters, and our own licensed gas fitter runs gas lines. Call (647) 280-6626 any time.
Yes. We check the pipes and radiators first. In most homes the radiators can stay. A combi boiler can also take over your hot water. See boiler installation.
Yes, but it means adding ducts. That is easiest during a big renovation when walls and ceilings are open. It also lets you add central air. We will price both ways.
Yes. We work from the drawings with your builder, architect or designer. We plan the systems, the ducts and the gas lines, then rough them in before drywall.
The original ducts were sized for an unfinished basement. Finished rooms down there often have one small vent and no return. A new run or a return usually fixes it.
Shade from big trees and cool basement walls both play a part. An oversized AC can make it worse. Check the humidity first, then call us to look at the AC sizing.
It depends on the size, windows and insulation, so we do a heat loss calculation from the drawings. Large homes often need two furnaces or a zoned system, not one huge unit.
Lakeview Village will use a shared district energy system, so homes there will not have their own furnace. We do work on the older Lakeview houses nearby, which still have furnaces and boilers.
We work out of Churchill Meadows, near Ninth Line. That puts us a few minutes from Erin Mills, Lisgar and Meadowvale, and about half an hour from Port Credit, Cooksville, Malton or Clarkson. We answer the phone 24 hours a day.
